The Final Chapter...

I’m currently writing the final chapter of my next book ‘Reaching for the Stars’ - with a deadline of 30th September - and I still don’t know how it’s all going to end!

Any ideas? All and any suggestions gratefully received - go on - do help out this poor exhausted author and leave a comment. The funnier the better as I’m in need of humour right now!

This week I introduced ‘Team Horton’ - my fabulous team of five Associate Readers who support me via the loveahappyending website.

And, please do pop over to my friend Gilly's new blog. Gilly is a very interesting journalist and romance writer and this week she is talking about her monthly column in glossy DG Life magazine and the subject of e-book marketing - in which she gives yours truly a wee toot.

Then, do come back next Friday when - if  I’ve survived my writeathon - I'll let you know if I completed my storyline and made my deadline!

Yay for you! A funny ending... dissolutioned chef and his love interest kiss over a soufle he's just taken out of the oven... all light and fluffy. Then it collapses and they burst into uncontrolable laughter.

Does that brighten you day?

Yay for you too Melanie! I love the idea of the collapsing soufflé and even more so the kiss. Thank you!

Happy to help. You said you needed something funny. I'm glad it made you laugh.

Couldn't possibly rob you of the rollercoaster experience of 'the ending'. I think you will find it will come to you when you least expect it - forget the deadline, as that's giving you 'stress block'. Relax, do something else and 'ping' it'll be there and you'll wonder why you ever thought it wouldn't present itself! Good luck, Linn x

It's more fun when you don't know the ending! I'm sure it will be just perfect when it comes.

Eek! Good luck, Janice - I know how anxiety inducing that can be!

Thank you for your lovely comments this morning and for all the encouragement. I was having a horrible writing day yesterday and I was feeling tired. Today I woke up and started writing before I could over-think things or clutter up my sleepy head.

Well, over six hours later, I’m still in my pyjamas but I’ve thrashed it out. I’ve (hopefully) picked up the threads of the plot (what plot? I was screeching just yesterday!) and I have achieved an ending of sorts in which there were tears; mine (probably from pure relief) and the character’s (from such an emotionally charged happy ending!) but there is still lots and lots to do on this story - and just one week to do it in before it goes Round One (ding-ding) with my trusty Editor!

I’m still hoping for some humorous happy ending sentences in this comment box btw!

Janice xx

Thanks for the follow, Janice. I'm glad to reciprocate. I like anyone who likes and writes humor.
